1st day of Fall (OK, 2nd Day of Fall)

I once read in a magazine somewhere that houses have seasons. A time of year when a house shines. It is at its most comfortable and beautiful. Well my house is a fall house. It looks great with orange pumpkins and purple mums on the porch. With a leaf wreath on the door and brown and green acorns collected in a bowl. But I think that the house is an autumn house because I am an autumn person. I love greens and browns, natural colors that calm and ground the senses. Spice flavored candles wafting apple cider smells through the house, baking quick breads and muffins and applesauce. Throwing a cardigan over a T-Shirt with my sandals. Sleeping with the windows open and a heavy blanket on the bed, cuddling up under a quilt on the couch. Every season has its perks and I usually look forward to them all but Fall is my season! Apple picking, pumpkin carving, hiking in the fall leaves. If only grey mid-winter did not come after.

I love fall as well. One of my favorite parts is lighting the first fire in the fireplace. :) I love all the owls in the background on your blog.

Regarding your question about the artichokes...yes, the ones packed in water.
