It's the Little Things

I had a revelation, a break through the other day. I had picked up a Subway and with out thinking I filled my cup with soda. I had already had a glass of tea and wanted a change. I took two sips and realized what I had done. Then the inner struggle started. Do I throw it away and waste it? Or do I drink it, after all it's just a soda? I know this sounds like a simple decision but it took a huge amount of self control.

I threw out the soda and drank water.

But it got me to thinking how hard the little things are. It's easy to decide to raise your child mindfully, but hard to put down the computer and interact. It's easy to say your going to eat healthy but hard to put down the soda. It's easy to decide to live on a budget but hard to take things out of your basket when you've gone over.

All those little things add up. So I celebrate the small decisions towards a better life and home.

Those little things are the same, hard things I deal with. Each day is a fresh start. :)

p.s. Good for you, throwing out the soda.
