Part of the reason we bought this house seven years ago was because the back yard was like a park. Trees and shrubs on the south side completely hid the neighbors as well as the street and the noise from it. When I came home from work last night the neighbor along with some work men were cutting down the two huge elm trees. They had already ripped out the bushes.
My heart weeps for the loss. Princess keeps asking why he took her trees. The neighbors can now look right into my windows. Today there were five birds sitting on a lone branch looking around and chirping. I realized at that moment I will no longer hear the birds chirping among the brush or see the baby's trying their wings. I look out my kitchen window but instead of seeing and smelling the honeysuckle vines I see the back of the neighbors garage. The sky is open and looks down on me malevolently. Worst of all the beautiful spring green of bright leaflets that I look forward to all year are lying in torn mounds all over his back yard.
Well, I have some news for mister tree-hater neighbor. I have already picked out a hedge that grows to be ten feet high and three feet thick with in three years of planting.
Then I'm lining it with trees!
